Fire Alarms for Fire Risk Assessors

Overview

This course has been developed to expand on knowledge of most fire risk assessment courses and qualifications, this course is designed to provide fire risk assessors with a more in depth knowledge on fire alarm system types, cause and effects, system design, maintenance requirements and will give fire risk assessors and fire consultants more confidence when providing advice and guidance to clients.

Who is this course for?

This comprehensive one-day course is designed to equip Fire Risk Assessors and professionals with an interest in fire detection and alarm systems with essential knowledge of commercial fire alarm systems.

Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the various types of fire alarm systems, correct detector positioning, and the key requirements for testing and inspection. 

By the end of the course, attendees will be confident in providing informed, detailed, and professional assessments, comments and recommendations regarding fire alarm systems.

The course is a 1-day course which covers the following:-

- Why a premises may require a Fire detection and alarm system

- The sections of BS 5839-1

- Common selection of Fire alarm panels

- Common selection of commercial Fire alarm detection and how it should be installed, including cabling

- Fire alarm sounders and other outputs

- Outline the contents, in terms of fire alarms, of the RRO and the British Standards

- Commercial fire alarm system testing and maintenance

- Domestic fire alarms and BS 5839-6

Who can take this course?

This course is specifically designed to provide fire risk assessors and responsible persons with an in-depth knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems, covering aspects of Design, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance.

How can I complete this course?

This course can be completed at our Training Centre or Online via MS Teams and is an attendance only course and there will be NO EXAM to complete. Upon completion learners will be awarded a certificate of attendance.

Certification 

Upon completion of the course learners will be issued with a certificate of attendance which will highlight the learning outcomes and topics covered during the course.
